Having some sort of yardage finder and something to record your shot data is incredibly important if you’re looking to seriously improve your golf game. In this post, I’m going to be comparing the Arccos Caddie Sensors, Game Golf Live, Zepp 2, and the Shot Scope V2.
If you’re a little bit tighter on a budget we’d definitely recommend the Game Golf Live system. It’s much better than Zepp 2 in terms of build quality and accuracy. If you want a little bit more and have some more money to spend we’d highly recommend the Arccos system. It’s much better than the Shot Scope V2 and is our favorite device of this type.
- Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors.
- GAME GOLF Live Tracking System.
- Zepp Golf 2 3D Swing Analyzer.
- Shot Scope V2 Smart GPS Golf Watch.
All of the devices are fairly decent and could be worth picking up if you find them on sale. All I’m saying is that the Game Golf and Arccos Caddie systems were of higher quality. If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. If you want the full details and the best place to pick them up, continue reading.

The Game Golf Live
This is a shot tracking system that comes with 1 sensor for each club and is currently priced around $100. This is actually a really decent price for what you get. It’s not 100% accurate but it will give you a bunch of useful insights.
It’ll record all of your stats (club distances, strokes gained, fairways hit) and will send the data to your phone in real-time so you can view everything. You can also see averages across a bunch of rounds.
It also acts as a GPS and will tell you the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green as well as the distance to different hazards and doglegs.
Knowing this info was a huge help for dialing in my distance control. I didn’t find it to be as accurate as a Garmin golf watch but it was reasonably close.
NOTE. It looks like they’ve focused their efforts on the newer Game Golf Pro system and it might be hard finding the Live version. It’s more expensive so I don’t know if it’ll be right for you.

Who Is The Game Golf For?
In our opinion, the Game Golf Live system will be perfect for anyone just getting started with golf or someone who’s a bit tighter on a budget (if you can find it for sale).
It’s definitely was our favorite device like this in the price range since it’s a lot higher quality than others. It’s pretty hard to beat what you get for the cost.
It’s not perfect by any means but it provides a lot of useful data, it’s fairly accurate (within 5-7 yards), and it’s not going to break the bank.
The Zepp 2

The Zepp 2 is very similar to the Game Golf Live system and is also priced around $100. Again, it’s a really decent price and sometimes you can find them much cheaper when they’re on sale.
It comes with a sensor that attaches to your glove and will record your club stats such as club speed, swing plane, tempo, and backswing length.
It’ll record your swing path so you can get a 360-degree view of it and will also recommend what part of your game needs work. A lot of the features are very similar to the Game Golf system.
Who Is The Zepp For?
In our opinion, the Zepp 2 system isn’t quite as good as the Game Golf Live and we can’t recommend it. It’s still a pretty decent device and could work for you, but I’d go with something else if it were me.
The first thing we didn’t like about it was that it wasn’t that accurate for short irons (the club speed recorded a lot faster than the true number).
The second thing was that it didn’t hold a charge as good and had to be charged after every round. Not a huge deal but a bit of an inconvenience.
Lastly, it doesn’t act as a GPS like the Live system. This was the big downside for me because you’d have to go out and spend another hundred bucks (or more) on a GPS unit.
The Shot Scope V2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG2MEcnuwBs
This is a shot tracking system that comes with a sensor for your club, a GPS watch, and is currently priced at around $100. It used to be about double the price so it could be a good option for someone who’s tighter on a budget.
The GPS watch will tell you the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green as well as hazards. It just gives you the basic numbers but you won’t be able to see an overview of the hole on your watch.
The club sensors will record how far you hit each club, how many fairways you hit, and where your common miss was and will send this info to the app on your phone.
Who Is The Shot Scope For?
In our opinion, the Shot Scope is a fairly decent GPS but there are better options out there at this price. I like the quality and design of the Arccos system better and that’s why I’d go for that.
The first thing I didn’t like about it was that the watch was pretty big and bulky.
The second thing was that the app wasn’t as good as some of the others.
Overall, we like the Arccos system a lot more.
The Arccos Smart Sensors
This is a club tracking and GPS system that was developed in partnership with Microsoft and is currently priced at around $180. At the time of writing this, it’s our favorite club tracker/GPS unit.
It comes with a sensor for each club and an app to act as a GPS and show all of your data. The app is built really well and it’s not as clunky and glitchy as some of the others.
It’ll allow you to select any point on the hole and it’ll tell you the distance and it’ll also record your club data and recommend which club to use.
Being able to see the distance to any point on the course is incredibly helpful with distance control. Using your phone can be an inconvenience but you’ll get used to it quickly.
Who Is The Arccos For?
In our opinion, the Arccos system is definitely worth it and is probably our favorite device like this. It’s a little bit more expensive than the other units but it’s built a lot better and is more accurate.
I’ve used the Arccos 360 for quite a while and have switched to the newer version and it has been great. It’s something that has lasted me a long time and was well worth the money.
The app is super clean, easy to navigate through, and doesn’t crash like a lot of others. If you want something that gives a bit more data than the Golf Live, this will be it.
Pros Of These Devices
- They can really help you dial in your distance control.
- Knowing where your common misses are will give you something to work on.
- They’re fairly reasonably priced.
Cons Of These Devices
- They aren’t going to be perfect when it comes to accuracy and functionality (but they’re quite good).
- That’s about it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long do the sensors last?
A. They say 5 years for the Arccos. I’ve had my 360 sensors for 3 and they’re still good.
Q. Can they be used at the range?
A. No, they use GPS data to give distances so it won’t work at the range.
Are These Golf Trackers Worth It?
Overall, I definitely think a device like this is worth picking up because it’ll help your game and they aren’t going to break the bank. They’ve really helped me figure out how far I hit each club and get my distance control figured out.
If you’re tighter on a budget we’d recommend the Game Golf Live (if you can find it). The data it gives for the price is pretty impressive. Otherwise, our go-to system for a number of years now is the Arccos Sensors.
