In this post, I’m going to be comparing the FlightScope Mevo to the Ernest ES14 and ES12 and which one is worth picking up. I’ll also be talking about the cheapest place to pick them up.
Here’s how the Mevo compares to the ES12 and ES14. If you’re a little bit tighter on a budget and are considering the ES12 we’d recommend you wait and save up. The ES14 is a bit better but the app isn’t quite as good as the Mevo. Our favorite is the FlightScope and that’s why we’d recommend it.

The Ernest ES12
The ES12 is a portable launch monitor that’ll give ball speed and distance data and is currently priced at around $200.
When you take a shot it’ll combine the ball speed and the trajectory to calculate the carry distance.
You’ll connect the device to the app and it’ll give you feedback on each shot and record your averages for each club. You’ll also see the ball flight.
Who Is The ES12 For?
In our opinion, it’s not worth picking up one of these devices that are under $200 because they just aren’t accurate and consistent enough.
If you are tighter on a budget we’d highly recommend you wait and save up if you really want one.
The ES12 wasn’t always consistent and it oftentimes had a tough time connecting through Bluetooth.
The Ernest ES14
The ES14 is a more advanced launch monitor that is currently priced at around $500.
It’s pretty much the same thing as the ES12 but it comes with a few more advanced features.
The difference between the 2 is that the ES14 will tell you your club speed, ball speed, launch angle, smash factor, spin rate, and distance.
Who Is The ES14 For?
In our opinion, the ES14 is a fairly decent launch monitor but we do prefer the FlightScope Mevo.
The ES14 was more accurate and consistent than the ES12 but the app wasn’t up to par with the others.
It worked pretty well at the driving range (not so much at home) but if you want to store your data to look at after, this won’t be the one for you. Also, it wasn’t as accurate as the Mevo when using my driver and fairway woods.
Here’s a demo video of the ES12 and ES14:
The FlightScope Mevo
The Mevo is pretty similar to the ES12 and 14 and it is currently priced at around $500.
The first difference between them was that the Mevo worked a lot better at home hitting into a net.
The second difference was that the Mevo actually records your swing so you can look at it in real-time.
The third is that it’ll track the spin, apex height, and flight time.
Who Is The Mevo For?
In our opinion, the Mevo is one of the better options in this price range and that’s why I’d recommend it.
It’s not going to be as accurate as the Trackman or the Skytrak but it’s fairly good and a fraction of the price.
If you’re someone who doesn’t yet have their swing dialed in, this will be a great thing for you because it records your swing and you can fix it in real-time.
