Tee Claw Review 2024: Read Before You Buy This Training Aid

The range you normally go to probably doesn’t have the best mats to help you align everything properly so it can be kind of difficult to get a good round of practice in. In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Tee Claw training aid and showing you how you can use it to improve your game.

There are a lot of different training aids out there and most of them are not worth picking up. They’re either poorly built or they just plain don’t work. Some cost quite a bit of money which can be a big waste. That being said, what did I think of the Tee Claw?

I really do like the Tee Claw. It’s a super simple concept that’s not overly expensive as a lot of others out there. It can be used for a variety of different things such as alignment, hitting draws/fades, and even on the putting green. Having the right alignment is one of the easiest things you can do to shoot better scores and I couldn’t imagine practicing again without it.

If that’s all you were looking for then great. If you want a more detailed review or you want to find out where the cheapest place to get one is, then continue reading.

✅ TEE CLAW Training Aid: An HONEST Review

What Is The Tee Claw?

The Tee Claw is a training aid that comes with 4 claws and 5 lanyards. You simply attach 2 claws together using a lanyard and attach the claws to the ground. The lanyards will help you with alignment and the claws will let you hit off of real tees (instead of those crappy rubber ones).

You can use it to work on your long game, short game, and even your putting. It’s designed to attach to artificial turf like most of the driving ranges have but you can use it on real grass as well.

I’ve seen products out there that let you use real tees on the range but they don’t have the lanyards to work on your alignment at the same time. You also don’t have to carry around alignment sticks which can take up a lot of room or break pretty easily (I’ve gone through a few of them).

You can use the Tee Claw to work on anything you want (club alignment, stance, where you make impact, targets, etc) and you can use whatever size of tee you want (driver, woods, irons). Overall, it’s been an awesome thing to have and I’d highly recommend you grab one if you go to the range often.

What Does It Help With?

Like I was saying before, you can use it to work on a wide range of things. It’s built much better than the other real tee products and it’s much more versatile than alignment sticks (you can hit the claw and it won’t break).

The main thing I always use it for is aligning with my target. The range I normally go to doesn’t have alignment lines on the mat so it can sometimes be difficult to visualize where straight is (it also angles so it throws you way off). All you have to do is figure out where “straight” is and set up 2 claws and a lanyard.

The second thing I use it for is aligning my feet. I always struggled with this and had a tough time lining up my feet parallel to where my club was aiming (I used to aim my feet at the target instead of having them parallel). Just by having those 2 lines it made things so much easier and I hit more greens and fairways because of it.

You can also use it to figure out where you want the ball in your stance. The video above will show you more things you can do with the claw. I also like to use it to practice putting. I’ll set up 2 claws around 6 feet in front of me and I’ll try to get the ball between them. That’s been a huge help as well.

How Do You Use It?

The first thing you’ll want to do is attach a lanyard to 2 claws. It’s a little bit tough to get them on but it’ll make sure they don’t come apart. You’ll then have a straight line you can attach to the ground. Place one of the claws where you want your tee to go and the other so it aligns with your target.

You can then take the remaining 2 claws and do the exact same thing. I like to use the second line for showing me where my feet should go and where they should be aimed. As long as I’m able to set up and be aligned properly, I’ll have a way higher chance of hitting the ball where I want it.

You can also use the second lanyard to show you where the ball should be placed in your stance. I find this really helpful as well and what I would recommend you do is get 2 boxes of the Tee Claw so you have double the claws and lanyards. You can have a line for your clubface, a line for your feet, and another one for your ball position.

I also really like to have 2 lines set up on either side of the ball when I’m practicing putting. That’ll make sure I’m making contact in the center of the putter and that will help with consistency. I’ll also place 2 tee claws ahead of me and my only job is to place the ball between them.

Pros

  • The value you get for the price can’t be beaten.
  • You can work on different parts of your game.
  • It’s easy to pack around and won’t take up much space.

Cons

  • The claws are plastic so they will break if you hit them.
  • The lanyards will also snap if you hit them or stretch them too much (they come with an extra).
  • You’ll need 2 boxes for the full benefits.

The Verdict

Overall, the Tee Claw has become one of my favorite trainers on the market because it’s cheap and it actually does work. It keeps things simple and helps you work on the basics (which a lot of the devices don’t). If you can master the basics (alignment, positioning, etc) then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t lower your scores.

I take the claw everywhere I go and always use it at the range or before my round. If you don’t practice much then it’s not going to be something for you but if you spend a good amount of time practicing and you actually want to get better then I highly recommend you grab one of these for yourself. You can thank me later.
