Voice Caddie VC300se Voice Golf GPS 2024: An HONEST Review

In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Voice Caddie VC300se and giving my honest thoughts after bringing it to the golf course. I’ll also show you the cheapest place I could find it for sale, so continue reading.

The Voice Caddie VC300se will be perfect for you if you’re someone who’s new to golf or doesn’t get out much. It’s a lot better than the VC200 because it offers more features and isn’t that much more. If you golf a lot and want more features, go with something else, but if you’re tight on a budget, I’d give the VC300 a thumbs up.

If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. If you want a more detailed review and the best place to pick one up, continue reading.

My First Impression

This is a fairly inexpensive golf GPS that’ll tell you the distance to the front/center/back of the green.

You’ll also be able to tell how far you’ve hit the ball (which is nice to know).

It comes preloaded with over 30,000 courses and has a 2 round battery life (about 8 hours).

I found it to be quite a bit better than the previous VC200 because it had a few more features and it wasn’t that much more money.

What Does The VC300 Do?

The VC 300 isn’t a very advanced unit but it does do a few really useful things…

The first is it’ll tell you how far away the front, center, and back of the green is (helped me a bunch).

The second is that it’ll tell you how far your shot was so you don’t have to try and calculate it yourself.

Knowing this info has been a huge help with my distance control and picking the right club.

What Doesn’t The VC300 Do?

The VC 300 is a fairly simple GPS that doesn’t offer a lot of the things other more expensive units do…

The first thing it doesn’t do (that would really be nice) is tell you how far away hazards are (bunkers, etc).

The second thing it doesn’t do (which isn’t the biggest deal) is showing you the shape of the green on the actual GPS.

How Accurate Was The VC300?

Since this unit doesn’t have any advanced features, it better perform well with the features it has…

I was actually pretty surprised by how accurate it was because a lot of the other “cheaper” units were way off and not even worth it in my opinion.

It wasn’t the best by any means but it was always within 4-5 yards of the course markers.

Pros

  • The price is great.
  • It’s accurate enough for me considering the price.
  • It’ll give you all the basic info you’d need on the course.
  • Knowing your distances will really help you become more consistent.

Cons

  • It doesn’t show the distance to different hazards (bunkers, water, doglegs, etc).
  • It doesn’t keep track of any stats like some of the others do (more $$ though).
  • The clip it came with (for your hat) wasn’t the best.

The Breakdown

  • Performance Score: 8
  • Price Score: 9
  • Ease Of Use Score: 9
  • My Personal Score: 8.5

Is It Worth It?

Overall, it’s not the best rangefinder out there but if you are tight on a budget I’d give it a thumbs up. Check the current price on Amazon (best place we could find it).

It’s a lot better than the VC 200 because it offers more features and isn’t that much more.

If you’re someone who’s new to golf or doesn’t get out much, this could be a perfect option for you.

If you golf a lot and want more features, go with something like this.
