Garmin Approach X10 Golf GPS Band 2023: An HONEST Review

In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Garmin Approach X10 golf watch and sharing my thoughts on how it compares to other watches on the market. I’ll also show you the cheapest place I could find it for sale, so continue reading. In short, here’s my quick review of the Garmin Approach X10:

The X10 is a well-built golf watch that came out a little while ago. That being said, it’s not the one I’d recommend because the Garmin Approach X40 (newer version) is pretty much the same price and has more features. The X40 has more activity tracking and there’s really no reason to go with the X10.

If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. If you want a more detailed review and the best place to pick one up, continue reading.

Garmin Approach X10 First Impressions

This is the basic and fairly inexpensive golf watch from Garmin that comes loaded with over 41,000 courses worldwide.

It has a pretty small screen (not the best if you have bad eyes) but it’s one of the easier units to use and it’s as accurate as any.

Garmin Approach X10 Features

The X10 has a touchscreen display and a battery that will last around 10 hours on GPS mode.

It has a GPS that’ll show the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green as well as the distance to doglegs, hazards and layup spots.

It also has a digital scorecard and will help you figure out how far you hit each shot.

You’ll be able to see the green shape and also it’ll track fairways/greens hit and putts per round.

Garmin Approach X10 Design

I’m not the biggest fan of wearing watches but one of the reasons I liked this watch was because it was much more compact and comfortable.

It wasn’t big and bulky like a lot of others and it was one of the better and more simple watches to use.

There’s no color display and it’s a fairly small screen so it could be a bit hard to read if you don’t have the best eyesight.

How Did The X10 Perform?

The first thing I looked at was the battery life because a lot of the GPS units out there barely last a full round.

In our experience, the X10 lasted 2 full rounds and still had a bit of juice left (pretty standard across all Garmin watches).

Garmin has generally produced the best quality GPS units in terms of accuracy and that was still the case.

For us, it was always within about 4-5 yards of my laser rangefinder or the markers on the course.

How Does It Compare To Others?

The X10 was one of the better budget golf watches and is better than most on the market.

Some of the more expensive ones are better (Garmin S60Bushnell Neo Ion 2) but they’re going to cost a bit more.

That being said, if you are interested in a watch like this I’d recommend the X40 instead…

It’s a few bucks more and it has a lot more features (fitness tracking, Garmin Autoshot, etc).

Is It Worth It?

Overall, it’s definitely a well-made watch that has some accurate features but in our opinion, the Approach X40 is a better option.

It’s very similar in price and it has a lot more features you can use out on the course.

The X40 is compatible with Garmin TruSwing and it has a lot more activity tracking features (link below).
