Bat Caddy X8R Review 2021 – An HONEST Opinion

In this post, I’ll be reviewing the Bat-Caddy X8R electric golf trolley and sharing my honest thoughts after testing it out on the golf course. Some of the electric golf carts we’ve tested have felt pretty cheaply built, which I wasn’t too happy about. That being said, how did the Bat-Caddy stack up?

In short, this is one of my favorite “middle of the range” electric carts and would definitely recommend it. It’s not perfect by any means but it’s an improvement over the older X3R and I found it a lot better than some of its competitors. If you’re in the market and don’t want to spend a fortune, this could be your solution.

When we tested the cart (and anything else) we look at how it actually performed, how the quality was, and how it was priced. We only tend to pass things that check all 3 boxes. If that’s all the info you needed then great, but continue reading if you want a more detailed review.

My First Impressions Of The X8R

This is the premium electric golf cart from Bat-Caddy and is one of the models we tested when we were looking for the best electric trolley on the market…

It’s got a middle of the range price tag (compared to other carts) and it seems to be pretty well made and durable (it better be).

The main thing I liked about it was that it was super light (22 pounds) and folded down a lot smaller than some of its competitors.

Here’s a demo video:

How Was The Build Quality?

When you’re paying up for an item like this you really want to make sure it’s built well and will last a long time.

I didn’t have any problem with the quality of the X8R and it was actually better than some of the more expensive units.

Some of the other carts used a lot of plastic (which tends to break), but it was nice to see Bat-Caddy use as much metal as possible (and keep it fairly light).

It was lighter than I expected and it also was compact when folded which made it super easy to carry around and store.

How Was The Battery?

One of the most important things in an electric cart is a battery that will last a full round and then some…

Some carts had batteries that kind of sucked…

But the X8R has a lithium battery and will last a full round no problem (it was about 1.5-2 rounds for us).

The battery is supposedly supposed to last 500+ charges but we haven’t had it long enough to confirm that.

Overall, the battery does seem great and you can always push it if it stops working.

Now the most important question…

How Did It Perform?

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been trying and testing multiple electric carts and some were a lot better than others…

The X8R wasn’t perfect or anything like that but it was definitely a solid product.

It was easy to use, the battery worked great, and it had plenty of power to get up hills (steep and wet).

That being said, I found that it wasn’t as sturdy on hills like some of the others since it had a higher center of gravity (it won’t tip unless it’s super steep and sideways).

Is It Worth It?

Overall, this is one of my favorite electric golf carts that’s not overly expensive. It’s not perfect, but it was really solid in the areas that matter most (power, durability, battery).

There are more advanced options out there but they’re quite a bit more money. There are also cheaper options out there but the quality just isn’t there in my opinion.
