Skytrak vs FlightScope Mevo vs ES14 vs SC200: 2024 Updated

In this post, I’m going to be comparing 4 different golf launch monitors. The first is the Skytrak, second is the Mevo, third is the ES14, and the last is the SC200. I’ll also talk about the cheapest place to pick them up.

Which launch monitor is best? In short, all of them are decent devices and we would highly recommend getting a device like this. If you’re tighter on a budget and don’t want to spend a fortune, we’d recommend the FlightScope Mevo. If you have more to spend and want a simulator as well, the Skytrak is a great option.

If that’s all you were looking for then great. If you want a more detailed review or want to pick one up for the best price, continue reading.

The Voice Caddie SC200

The SC200 is a fairly inexpensive golf launch monitor that’s currently priced at around $289.

All you have to do is place the device behind you, take a swing, and it’ll tell you your carry distance, swing speed, ball speed, and smash factor.

It comes with 3 different modes. Practice mode is how it sounds. Target mode lets you select a distance and it’ll tell you how close you came. Random will give you different distances and tell you how close you were.

Who Is The SC200 For?

In our opinion, the SC200 is probably the best budget-friendly golf launch monitor (under $300).

It’s definitely not as accurate as of the others but it’s fairly close and it’ll make practice a lot more fun.

I’ve tried others that were around this price and most of them aren’t worth picking up in our opinion.

If you’re tight on a budget, this could be a good option for you.

The Ernest ES14

The ES14 is almost double the price of the SC200 and it uses a combination of cameras and radar to track your club and swing stats.

The ES14 will tell you your club speed, launch angle, ball speed, smash factor, spin rate and distance.

It’ll also connect to your phone or tablet to keep track and give you more data about your swing.

ES12 & ES14 Launch Monitor Review and Side by Side Comparison

Who Is The ES14 For?

In our opinion, the ES14 is a decent device but we prefer the FlightScope Mevo a lot more.

It’s essentially the same price and we found it to be quicker and more accurate compared to the ES14.

Because of that, there’s really no way we could feel comfortable recommending it.

The FlightScope Mevo

The Mevo is another launch monitor that’s currently the same price as the Ernest ES14.

All you have to do is place the device behind you, take a swing, and it’ll capture and record all of your data so you can view it in real-time on the app.

It’ll also record your swing (which is super cool) so you can view it in real-time and see what needs to be tweaked.

Who Is The Mevo For?

Compared to the SC200 and the ES14, the Mevo is our favorite and is the one I’ve been using most myself.

It records the most features such as carry distance, clubhead speed, ball speed, smash factor, vertical launch angle, spin, apex height and flight time.

If you’re able to pay more and plan on using it a lot we’d highly recommend the Mevo. If you want something more advanced, check out the Skytrak

The Skytrak

The Skytrak is a photometric launch monitor that uses a camera to track the ball and its stats.

It’ll be able to record stats such as ball speed, launch angle, backspin, sidespin, and side angle.

The big difference between the Skytrak and the others is that it also includes a simulator that will allow you to play pretty much any course from the comfort of your home.

Who Is The Skytrak For?

Since the Skytrak is much more expensive than the rest, it’s only going to be for those who have the extra cash laying around and will use it a lot.

It’s great because it comes with a simulator which is super fun to use at home (either practice or playing with your buddies).

It also requires that you have a Mac tablet or computer with IOS 7+ or PC with Windows 7+.

Pros Of These Devices

  • I ended up practicing a lot more because I didn’t have to leave the house.
  • Getting the numbers after you take a shot will challenge you to improve your game and make practice more fun.

Cons Of These Devices

  • They aren’t the cheapest devices on the market.
  • If you’re hitting into a net you won’t get the most accurate picture (can’t see flight).
  • They aren’t going to fix a bad swing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do they track flight paths (slice and hooks)?

A. Only the Skytrak will show that.

Q. How do they track spin?

A. They come with stickers that go on the ball to track the spin.

Q. How accurate are they?

A. It depends if you have the device in the proper spot but generally within 5-7 yards.

Are These Devices Worth It?

Overall, we use devices like these all the time and would highly recommend getting some sort of stat tracker like it.

The thing I use them most for is giving me a challenge when practicing which gets me out more and my game has improved because of it.

If you’re tighter on a budget we’d recommend the Mevo. Otherwise, Skytrak is a cool device.
