Having some sort of yardage finder on the course is one of the easier ways to improve your distance control and scores. The good news is that they don’t have to be expensive either. Today, we’ll be talking about the 3 best rangefinders under $100 so you can get the highest quality one possible, and I’ll also talk about the cheapest place to pick each of them up.
When we were trying out all the rangefinders we ranked them all based on how accurate they were, how quick they were to give a reading, and also how much they cost. We’ll cover both laser and GPS yardage finders.
That being said, here are the best golf rangefinders under $100:
- Boblov Rangefinder (Laser).
- Golfbuddy Voice 2 (GPS).
- Visionking Rangefinder (Laser).

#3: Visionking Rangefinder
This is my second favorite laser rangefinder under $100 since it’s super affordable, is just as accurate as some of the other more expensive units, and works great for both golf and hunting. Most laser rangefinders will work for both sports but it’s quite rugged which is a big plus.
It says it measures to around 650 yards but with my experience, it’s more like 400 yards (which is all you really need on the golf course). Most rangefinders overstate their range but most people don’t have a steady enough hand. 400 yards is plenty though.
It’s not the highest-tech piece of equipment out there but it does one job and one job well. As long as it accurately tells me how far away objects are, that’s all I really care about.
The PROS:
- The price can’t be beaten.
- It’s fairly small, lightweight, and easy to use.
- it’s accurate enough for most (not perfect but really close).
The CONS:
- It’s not as quick to lock in on the target as more expensive units (expected).
- It doesn’t have the vibrating function when it locks on.
Overall, it’s a lot better than other rangefinders in its price range (in my opinion). Check the price on Amazon.
#2: Golfbuddy Voice 2 GPS
This is my favorite golf GPS distance finder under $100 and would highly recommend it if you prefer this style over the laser. You don’t have to point and shoot as you would with a laser, so it’s an awesome option for someone with shaky hands.
It’s not super advanced or anything like that but it does a great job at giving you the distance to the front, center, and back of the green (and is also really simple to use). The main downside to it is that it won’t give you the distance to hazards such as bunkers and water.
You can get 2 full rounds out of it before charging it again and I found it to be just as accurate as some of the other more expensive GPS units. It’s definitely the best of this kind under 100 bucks.
The PROS:
- The price is great.
- It’ll really help you figure out how far you hit each club (important to know).
- It’s compact and easy to use.
- The battery life was good.
The CONS:
- You aren’t able to keep score on the GPS.
- It can sometimes take a while to find the course you’re on.
- It sometimes gets confused about the hole you’re on (restart it and you’ll be good to go).
Overall, it’s the best GPS out there in its price range by far. Check the current price on Amazon. Here’s a demo video:
#1: Boblov Rangefinder
This is my favorite laser rangefinder under $100 since it’s a little bit better in all areas compared to the Visionking. There wasn’t really anything wrong with the VisionKing but they’re essentially the same price and I think you’ll like the Boblov a bit more.
It’s a bit faster to lock on the target, it’s a bit more consistent, and it actually vibrates when you lock in on the target (which is super helpful to people with shaky hands). Having something that vibrates when you lock onto something is really helpful because it’s sometimes a bit tough to tell.
It’s not quite as good as the more expensive units for shaky hands but that’s kind of expected with the much lower price tag it comes with. When it comes to accuracy, it’s just as good as a lot of the other units.
The PROS:
- It’s the most well-built rangefinder under $100.
- It’s really simple and straightforward to use.
- The laser seems to be accurate and consistent (more than others).
- The battery life was great.
The CONS:
- There’s no light in the display so it’s hard to read when it gets darker.
- It’s not as good as others for people with shaky hands (better than most cheaper units though).
Overall, if you want the best possible laser rangefinder that won’t break the bank, this will be for you. Check the price on Amazon. Here’s a demo video:
Final Thoughts
If you’re in the market for a new rangefinder or GPS and don’t want to spend a fortune, these 3 will be for you. They aren’t perfect by any means but they’re a lot better than others in their price range. They’ll help you figure out all the basic info you’d need on the course. Crushing it 20 yards over the green on knockin it 20 yards short should never be an issue again.
At the time of writing this, these 3 are the only ones I’d recommend getting under $100. We’ve tried others and they just weren’t good enough in our opinions. Get one of these or save up for a better one.
