Cobra King F8 Fairway Wood Review 2024 – An HONEST Opinion

I’ve tried quite a few different fairway woods over the past couple of weeks. Some were a lot better than others, and in this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Cobra King F8 and giving my honest thoughts after testing out this club.

Long story short, the F8 is one of my favorite fairway woods, and in my opinion, could benefit a lot of mid to high handicap golfers. I found it super easy to swing, it had the forgiveness I was looking for, and the distance was definitely there. It has a mid-sized head which I preferred over a lot of other models (some were too big and others too small). Since it was a comfortable club to swing and the performance was there, this is the fairway wood I’m currently using.

If that’s all you were looking for then great. But if you want more info, be sure to watch the full review video or blog post below.

Cobra King First Impressions

The first thing I noticed was the 2 larger rails on the bottom which was supposed to help with keeping the ball straighter and increasing distance. A lot of clubs back in the day had these on them but I haven’t really seen them in a while, so it was nice seeing them back.

The next thing I liked about it was the mid-sized head. I’m not a huge fan of woods that are too big and the smaller ones are pretty tough to hit, so the F8 seemed to be a perfect size.

Even though it was pretty light (lighter than I was used to) I didn’t find it to be a problem at all. It was super comfortable to swing, sounded good at impact, and also felt really solid (not hollow like a lot of other woods).

But how did it perform…

How Did It Perform?

Other than being a super easy to swing club, the F8 also performed really well for me. I’ve tested woods where I really struggled to hit them, and this was one of them where (for whatever reason) it seemed almost effortless.

I’ve always been a bit inconsistent with my woods off the ground, but I think what really helped with this club was the 2 rails on the bottom. I’m not 100% sure but that’s what I’m going with.

Feel, check. Forgiveness, check. Distance, check.

There’s really not much else you can ask for, and that’s why I added this club to my own bag.

Who’s It Best For/Not For?

In my opinion, anyone could benefit from adding the F8 to their bag. But I think the mid to high handicap like myself, with a slower swing speed, would benefit the most from this club.

I got my buddy (low handicap) to take a few swings with it and he had nothing but positives to say about it too.

Pros

  • It comes with 2 rails on the bottom to helps keep the ball straight and long.
  • It’s a perfect size (in my opinion).
  • It’s light, but still sounds and feels solid at impact.
  • It comes with 5 adjustable loft settings.
  • Not overly expensive.

Cons

  • Couldn’t really come up with any.

My Final Thoughts

As a mid handicap golfer with a slower swing speed, I saw awesome results with the Cobra F8 and that’s why I added it to my bag. It performed extremely well and the price is super reasonable.

If I had good results with it, and so did my low handicap buddy, I think this club would fit a wide range of golfers, and that’s why I’d recommend picking one up for yourself.
