Today, we’re going to be reviewing the Taylormade M3 hybrid and I’ll be sharing my honest thoughts after testing out the club. This is the new and improved version of the M1 (which I wasn’t the biggest fan of) so that being said, how did it perform for me?
Long story short, the M3 hybrid was a lot easier to hit than the old M1. It comes with all the adjustments you might want in a club and it’s a lot easier to align properly. In my opinion, it’s a great club if you’re able to move the ball around (draw/fade). Some downsides to the club were that it’s probably not best if you have a slower swing speed. If you struggle to hit your 3-5 irons you’ll probably want to go with the M4 hybrid. Other than it being an expensive hybrid, I think the M3 is a great club for a low handicap golfer.
If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. But if you want a more detailed review of the hybrid, be sure to watch the full video or blog post below!

Taylormade M3 First Impressions
The M3 hybrid is the newer version of the M1 and is more adjustable than the M4 hybrid. The first thing I noticed was the silver head instead of the white which made it a lot easier to align properly.
I noticed it was a bit smaller than the M4 hybrid and that’s going to make it a bit harder to hit but it’ll have more workability with the ball.
Other than that, it was pretty similar to the old M1 in terms of looks and feel.
How Did The Hybrid Perform?
Compared to the old M1, I found this club a lot easier to hit which was a big plus. It’s the same thing for the M3 fairway wood and driver. The M1 was made pretty much for pro players, but they decided to make the M3 more versatile.
I found it a bit tough to hit the M1 consistently so it was nice to see Taylormade make the M3 so any low to mid handicap could use it.
The M3 definitely produced less spin for me than the M4 which wasn’t the best thing for my swing. I have a slower swing speed so the spin of the M4 helps.

Who’s It Best For/Not For?
I would say the M3 is more for your low to mid handicap golfer who has a higher swing speed. If you have a slower swing speed like myself you’d probably benefit more from the M4 version.
The M3 also feels more like an iron compared to the M4 which is more like a smaller wood. It’ll be easier to work the ball around (fade/draw) with the M3.
Pros
- It comes with all the adjustments you’d want.
- I found it a lot easier to align properly.
- I found it easier to hit than the M1.
- It’s a great club if you’re able to move the ball around.
Cons
- It’s not going to be the best for slower swing speeds.
- It’s fairly expensive.
- It’ll be hard to hit if you struggle with your 3-5 irons.
The Breakdown
- Performance score: 8
- Price score: 6
- Durability score: 8
- Personal score: 7
My Final Thoughts
I’m not saying this club is bad and isn’t worth picking up. All I’m saying is that I got better results with different clubs.
If you’re a low to mid handicap golfer with a higher swing speed I’d recommend the M3 because it’ll give you the best results. If you’ve used the M1 in the past, you’d see even better results with the new M3 in my opinion.
