Callaway ROGUE Driver Review 2024 – An HONEST Opinion

For the past couple of years, I’ve been using a Callaway driver and have completely loved it. I was super excited to test out the Rogue once it came out to see how it compared. In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Callaway Rogue driver and sharing my honest thoughts after testing out this club.

Long story short, I was really happy with the way the Rogue performed and it’s one I’d recommend. It’s a bit lighter than my old driver (most people like this) and also had a bigger head. The biggest thing I noticed was the increased forgiveness which would help a lot of “weekend” golfers. For me, my ball flight was definitely straighter and it did actually go a bit further which I’ll take all day long.

If that’s enough info for you then great. But if you’d like more info on why I’d recommend the Callaway Rogue, check out the video or article below for my full review.

Callaway Rogue First Impressions

The first thing I noticed with this driver was that it felt really similar to the other Callaway models. That’s a plus because if you’ve ever used a Callaway driver before, you’ll feel right at home with this one.

In my opinion, it’s an awesome looking driver. It’s got a bigger head than before (so it can have a bigger sweet spot) and it’s a bit lighter than the older Callaways. I prefer a bit of a heavier driver like the XR 16 but it really wasn’t that big of a deal and a lot of people like the lighter ones anyway.

According to Callaway, the new Rogue has 16% more forgiveness than before, and if that’s the case, a lot of your “average” golfers could benefit from this club. Is it actually true though? Let’s talk about that…

How Did It Perform?

You could have all the best features, make it feel super comfortable, and have it sound unreal, but if the performance isn’t there it’s a complete waste…

That’s not the case with this club (for me) because the first thing I noticed was my ball flight was a lot straighter than before. My driver has always gone left to right (not the worst thing if you know how to play it) and for whatever reason, it straightened out quite a bit.

Just by having my ball stay straight, my distance also improved which is another bonus. It wasn’t a huge amount or anything like that, but it definitely helped.

Just by having those 2 things, I think this club is worth picking up. Here’s a demo video:

Who’s It For/Not For?

In my opinion, this club would be great for a mid to high handicap golfer who could use a straighter/longer drive. I know that sounds like most people, but it really helped me, and I think it could help you as well.

How about a low handicap? Even though it doesn’t have all the adjustments in the world like the M3, I think it could still benefit the scratch golfer as well (a lot of LPGA players are using the Rogue).

Pros

  • It’s a great looking club that also sounds and feels solid at impact.
  • It has more forgiveness than before.
  • It’ll also produce more clubhead speed.
  • It comes with a wider sweet spot which will add distance.

Cons

  • A bit lighter than I was used to.
  • It doesn’t come with any sliding weights (most people shouldn’t even worry about this).
  • It’s pretty expensive.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a Callaway fan, I think you’d love this driver and would love the new technology that’s inside it. The price is on the higher end, but if you golf a lot, I’d say it’s definitely worth it.

Also, if you’re a mid to high handicap player, I think you’d see great results switching to this. My drives straighten out a bit (it’s not going to fix a slice or hook, but it’ll help) and my distance improved.
