What Are The Best Golf Clubs For Kids? (My Top 5 Picks)

When you’re buying golf clubs for kids you’re most likely looking for something that’s not overly expensive and will withstand the blows to the ground that will probably happen. There are a number of different options to pick from and in this post, I’m going to be going over my favorite club sets for junior golfers.

Here are the best golf clubs for kids 2024:

  1. Callaway XJ Junior Golf Set
  2. Cobra King Jr Complete Set
  3. Wilson JGI Junior Golf Set
  4. Tour Edge HL-J Junior Golf Set
  5. PreciseGolf X7 Junior Golf Set

I haven’t been able to look over every single set out there but these 5 sets all seemed to be well built. They can all be used by both girls and boys and 4 of the 5 come in different sizes. I tried to find some that were cheaper and some that were a bit better in my opinion. All of them are solid though and should do the job just fine. #5. PreciseGolf X7 Junior Golf Set

If you’re on a budget or are just trying to see whether or not your kid enjoys golf, these clubs will probably be for you. They’re the cheapest set on this list and they come in a wide range of colors, sizes, and you can pick between left and right-handed.

The reason they’re ranked #5 is that they’re the lowest quality on this list. I found them to be better than other sets on the market but I probably wouldn’t recommend them if they’ll be used a lot.

They didn’t seem poorly made or anything like that but they were a little bit heavy and probably wouldn’t withstand years of smashing into the ground. If they’ll be used occasionally or just to hit around the backyard then go for it. If they’ll be used quite a bit then go for one of the other choices. Check the current price on Amazon.

Pros

  • It’s the cheapest set on this list.
  • It comes in different colors and sizes.
  • It’ll have all the basics you’d need to get started.

Cons

  • The set is a little bit heavy.
  • It’s the lowest quality set on this list.
  • The bag isn’t the most comfortable.

#4. Tour Edge HL-J Junior Golf Set

If you want something that’s a bit higher quality then this set could be perfect for you.  It comes in both left and right-handed and you can pick between different colors and sizes. It’s a little bit more expensive than the previous X7 but the clubs and bag seem to be a bit higher quality.

The medium and large sets come with a driver, hybrid, iron, wedge, and a putter. If you get the bigger set then it’ll also include a fairway wood. And yes, all the sets do come with a bag. It wasn’t the most comfortable but it was still decent.

The clubs this set came with all seemed to be pretty decent but the bag on the Wilson set seemed to be quite a bit better. If you don’t like the colors of the Wilson set then you’ll be fine going with this one. Check the current price on Amazon.

Pros

  • The price is really reasonable.
  • The clubs all seemed to be solid.
  • I like the way the bag looks.

Cons

  • The bag wasn’t quite as good as the Wilson.
  • The first one is all I can think of.

#3. Wilson JGI Junior Golf Set

If you’re looking for a set that’s under $150 then this one will probably be for you. It wasn’t my favorite on this list but it’s the best option in this price range. The clubs were all solid and the bag was a bit better than the previous Tour Edge.

You can pick between right and left-handed, it comes in a few different sizes, and it also comes in different colors. The smallest set comes with a driver, iron, wedge, and putter. The medium sets come with an extra hybrid and the bigger sets also come with another iron. Here’s a video of the bigger set:

The only downsides I could see with this set was the bag and grips. The bag was the best in this price range but it wasn’t as comfortable as some of the more expensive sets. I noticed the grips were a little thin on them but you could possibly put larger ones on if it’s an issue. Check the current price on Amazon.

Pros

  • The price is really good for the quality.
  • It has all the basic clubs you’d need.
  • The bag is more comfortable than others in this price range.

Cons

  • The grips are a little bit thin.
  • The bag won’t be as durable as the higher-end options.

#2. Cobra King Jr Complete Set

If you’re looking for an entire set for a teenager then these will be your best bet. They only come in one size unfortunately and will only fit kids between 60 and 65 inches. They’re also the most expensive set on this list.

If these clubs had size options to pick from then they’d be my number 1 pick. The bag seems to be well built and it comes with a driver, fairway wood, hybrid, 6 irons, and a putter. They all seem to be really solid.

The one thing you might want to consider with these is that your kid can grow into them. Even if they’re a bit big right now you still might be able to get 3-6 years out of them. That’s pretty good in my opinion. Check the current price on Amazon.

Pros

  • These clubs hit longer than the previous 3 sets.
  • The quality is the best on this list.
  • You could have them for a pretty long time.

Cons

  • The price is quite high.
  • They only come in one size and color.

#1. Callaway XJ Junior Golf Set

If you’re looking for a quality set but the Cobra is a bit big or you don’t want to spend that much money, these could be perfect for you. I don’t think they’re quite as good as the Cobra but they do come in different colors and sizes.

The smallest size comes with a fairway wood, iron, wedge, and putter. The medium size comes with an extra driver and iron. The biggest size comes with an extra hybrid. All the clubs seem to be of high quality.

The reason I like this set over the Wilson set is that the bag is better and the clubs seem more durable. I’ve always been a fan of Callaway myself and that’s probably part of the reason I like the way they feel. Check the current price on Amazon.

Pros

  • They should last until your kid grows out of them.
  • The bag is comfortable and well built.
  • The clubs are better than the first three sets.
  • They come in different sizes.

Cons

  • The price is on the higher side.
  • I don’t think they were quite as good as the Cobra set.
