There are a bunch of different options when it comes to golf bags and a lot of them aren’t that great. In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Callaway Capital stand bag and talking about whether or not it’s worth picking up.
Long story short, the Capital bag comes in both a stand and cart bag and is fairly inexpensive and affordable. What I liked most about the bag were the full-length club dividers it came with. Most bags don’t have this so it was nice to see. It also had plenty of room for all my gear, snack, and clothes. That being said, it’s not my favorite bag on the market. I didn’t find it to be the highest quality and the stand bag didn’t seem to be the most comfortable bag to carry. If you don’t golf much it could be a good option, but if you want something that’ll last a while I’d look into another bag.
I’m not saying it’s not worth picking up because it could be. All I’m saying is that there are better options out there in this price range. You can see my favorite stand bags here. If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. If you want a more detailed review of the bag, be sure to watch the full video or blog post below.

Callaway Capital First Impressions
After getting my new Callaway irons I figured I’d get a matching Callaway bag and this is one of the options I looked at. I normally use a pushcart so I was leaning towards the cart version of the bag (but I also tried the stand bag). I’ve been using Callaway products for a number of years and have always been happy with them.
I was also looking at the Callaway Chev and a few other models, so that’s what I’ll be comparing this bag to. The price of it was pretty attractive and it looked like it’d be able to hold everything I needed it to do.
The overall quality of the bag didn’t seem to be the greatest at first look. I’m sure it would be fine for the golfer who’s out a few times per year, but for someone out often, I don’t think it’s going to hold up that well. I’m mainly referring to the sturdiness and the zipper quality.
How Did The Bag Perform?
As for the storage, it was perfectly fine and it was able to hold everything I normally took out on the course. It had a pocket for pretty much everything, so I could bring lunch and a jacket and have plenty of space.
What I really liked about this bag was the full-length club dividers it came with, because a lot of bags don’t have that. Some bags have three or four slots while others have all your clubs sitting in one compartment. It can sometimes be tough taking your clubs out when they’re all in one and that’s why I liked the dividers.
Those two things were great and all but I didn’t find the bag to be very comfortable to carry. It wasn’t the worst bag I’ve tried and it should be fine for some people, but you’ll probably want something a bit better if you’re out often.
Obviously, it’s not the most expensive bag so I can see why it’s not perfect, but that’s something to know for sure. I also noticed that it didn’t work as well on my pushcart as some of the other stand bags. I know it’s not for that but it’d be a nice feature to have.
Who’s It Best For/Not For?
I would say this bag is for someone who either doesn’t golf a whole lot or someone who is tight on a budget and doesn’t want to spend a fortune. I do think there are other bags on the market (in this price range) that are better as well.
If you’re someone who golfs a lot or aren’t worried about the price, I’d probably recommend going with a more expensive option. I always like to pay a little extra on these things because it’ll definitely last longer. I’ve dealt with cheap bags, cheap pushcarts, and cheap shoes before and it doesn’t normally end well.
Pros
- It comes in both a stand and cart option.
- It’s fairly inexpensive and most could afford it.
- It comes with full-length club dividers.
- It has plenty of storage for all your stuff.
Cons
- I didn’t find it the best-made bag on the market.
- I didn’t find the stand bag to be very comfortable to carry around.
The Breakdown
- Performance score: 8
- Price score: 9
- Durability score: 7
- Personal score: 8
My Final Thoughts
Overall, if you’re someone who doesn’t golf a whole lot or are tight on a budget I’d say this might be worth picking up. It’s not the most well-built bag on the market but it’s got plenty of storage and it’s not going to break the bank like some of the other bags out there.
I’m sure if you take care of it and aren’t too rough, it should work just fine. The most important thing with a stand bag is that it’s actually comfortable to drag around the course. That was the main deal-breaker for me and that’s why I think you’d prefer something different. You can see my favorite carry bags here. They are all more comfortable and seem to be a bit higher quality as well.
