Today, we’re going to be reviewing the Cobra King F8 driver and I’ll be sharing my honest thoughts after testing out this club. I’ve swung the F8 fairway wood before this and it was one of my favorite woods (and the one I’m actually using) so I was expecting good things from the driver. Did it perform the same?

Long story short, it wasn’t my favorite driver in the world, but I definitely liked it and would give it a thumbs up. It wasn’t my favorite looking driver and I prefer my driver to be a bit heavier, but I’m not saying it’s not good (for some reason, I still prefer my old Callaway driver over these new ones). The F8 was a lot better than the previous F7, in my opinion, and it had a lot more forgiveness on off-center hits. Just like the other Callaway clubs, I found it super easy to align the ball properly which helped a lot. It had a nice deep sound at impact and felt really solid. It also gave me a higher launch angle than the old version which was cool. Overall, I would recommend the F8 driver.

If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. But if you want a more detailed review of the driver, be sure to watch the full video or blog post below!

Cobra King F8 First Impressions

According to Cobra, this driver was made for 5 to 25 handicaps with a mid to high swing speed who want more distance on off-center hits (that’s exactly me). They made it so a variety of golfers could benefit from using the club and not just pro or beginner golfers.

In terms of looks, I was a bigger fan of the way the F7 looked, but we all know looks don’t change how the thing performs. What I really liked about the driver was the big circle on the face of the club, and that was there to help with alignment. I found that super helpful, and so would most.

It also comes with Cobra Connect, which is a pretty cool thing, and it tracks your drive stats and sends it to your phone.

It’s lighter than the previous F7 (which I wasn’t big on) and more of the weight is moved to the back & bottom of the head. I prefer a bit of a heavier driver (like the older ones) and the F8 was somewhere in the middle. I know most people these days like the light ones, so I guess it’s a good thing.

One of the other things I liked about the F8 was the sound and also how solid it felt through impact. It was definitely better than the F7, in my opinion.

How Did The Driver Perform

The F8 was made for higher launches and more forgiveness, so they actually removed the front weight because it wasn’t needed. You can still adjust the weight and loft (16 different combos) to give you more draw or fade which is pretty cool.

When we talk about performance in a driver, the 2 things we only really look at are forgiveness and distance. For me anyway, that’s all that really matters. The big circle on the face really helped me align the ball properly which helped a lot with consistency. The increased forgiveness helped when I missed the sweet spot, and the distance was just as good as any other driver out there (in my experience).

What about the F8+? This is another option you can go with that produces less spin. It has a more compact head and the face is more square at address. It definitely produced less spin for me, and I did like it a bit more actually.

Overall, both performed really well and I’d give a thumbs up.
