If you’ve been a fan of Taylormade drivers in the past, you might want to check out the second driver in the M series. In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Taylormade M3 driver and talking about whether or not it’s worth picking up.

Long story short, I liked the M3 driver a lot more than the previous M1. It seemed to be designed for a variety of players instead of just the pros. Both the look and feel was a lot better at impact and it comes with a lot of adjustments. The new Twist Face technology definitely helped improve the forgiveness and that gave me a bit more distance. That being said, it wasn’t perfect or anything like that. It’s near the top of the list in terms of price and it was pretty light. Overall, the performance was a lot better than before but I’d probably go with a different driver if you’re a mid to high handicap with a slower swing speed.

I’m sure you’re aware that the M3 is a bit of an older driver. It’s still perfectly good and was a lot better than the previous M1 driver. If it was up to me I’d go with the newer Taylormade M6 driver. It’s far better than any other driver Taylormade has released (and also cheaper). If that’s all the info you were looking for then great. If you want a more detailed review of the driver, be sure to watch the full video or blog post below

Taylormade M3 First Impressions

I was pretty excited to test this club once it came out because of the new Twist Face technology it had. Basically, the whole idea behind it was to produce the opposite spin on off-center hits, which would keep the ball straighter.

The curved face isn’t really noticeable when you look down at it but the new design is a lot better than before. I thought it was going to be another one of those gimmicks but it actually did work pretty well.

I found it really easy to align the ball which was super helpful. The only thing I’d prefer is if it was a bit heavier (I prefer the weight of the older drivers). I always preferred the feel of Callaway or Ping drivers because they felt a little bit more solid. It doesn’t impact the performance though.

How Did The Driver Perform?

Compared to the old M1, this club felt a lot more solid at impact (not hollow like before) and it also had a deeper sound to it. Again, this isn’t something that has an impact on performance but it could boost your confidence a bit.

The first thing I noticed was that it hit a bit longer than the old M1. It wasn’t by that much, but I’ll take a couple of extra yards anytime I can. I’m sure this had to do with the improved forgiveness of the club.
