The GX-7 is a club that’s supposed to be as long as your driver, as accurate as your fairway wood, and will help you eliminate 3-4 bad shots per round. I was pretty intrigued by the whole concept and in this post, I’m going to be talking about how good the GX-7 X-Metal driver actually is.

In my opinion, the GX-7 is somewhere in between a driver and a 3 wood. It wasn’t quite as long as my driver but it was better than my 3 wood. I’ll have to agree with them in that it’s as accurate as your woods and could result in a few more fairways hit per round. The spin levels were a little higher compared to my driver but it was quite close. That being said, if you have a slower swing speed then this could potentially work for you.

It’s not something I’d use myself because I actually really like hitting driver and don’t struggle too much with it. The loft isn’t much less than my 3 wood (14 degrees) so I don’t really see a point in having it in my bag. If you’re an older golfer with a slower swing speed you might want to give it a try. Continue reading for the full details on the GX-7 driver.
