There are so many different ones to pick from and in this post, I\u2019m going to be talking about the best public golf courses in the Calgary area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>McCall Lake.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Maple Ridge.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Heather Glen.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Lynx Ridge.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Kananaskis.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These aren\u2019t in any specific order and they\u2019re not all super fancy and expensive to play. I wanted to pick a few that were in different price ranges and for different skill levels. All of them are normally in great shape and are extremely fun to play. Sure, there are a lot of others but I don\u2019t think you can go wrong with any of these courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>McCall Lake<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Area: Calgary<\/li><li>Par: 71<\/li><li>Length: 6845 yards<\/li><li>Rating: 4.1\/5<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-11-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2968\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a great golf course for the average player who doesn\u2019t want something too difficult or to spend a fortune. They\u2019ve recently done some renovations so almost everything is up to date. They have some pretty good practice areas and the fairways are open so you\u2019ll hopefully be able to hit them. Nothing fancy but it\u2019s still a fun course to play for cheap.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.calgary.ca\/CSPS\/Recreation\/Pages\/Golf-courses\/McCall-Lake.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"\">Visit their website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Maple Ridge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Area: Calgary<\/li><li>Par: 72<\/li><li>Length: 6576 yards<\/li><li>Rating: 4.2\/5<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-12-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2969\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t care about golfing at a super fancy course and just want to go out and have a good time, this could be a good choice. It\u2019s not that difficult to play but the fairways are quite narrow which makes things interesting. The course always seems to be in good shape and maintained often.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.calgary.ca\/CSPS\/Recreation\/Pages\/Golf-courses\/Maple-Ridge.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"\">Visit their website here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Heather Glen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Area: Rockyview<\/li><li>Par: 70<\/li><li>Length: 6355 yards<\/li><li>Rating: 4.4\/5<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-13-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2970\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This course has three different 9-hole courses on it so you can pick two of them if you want to play 18. The Hills course is longer and if you\u2019re good off the tee you should have an easy shot to the green. The Creek course has mostly par 3\u2019s and 5\u2019s so you can test your shot-making skills. The Grove course has narrow fairways and small greens if you want a tougher course.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heatherglengolf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"\">Visit their website here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lynx Ridge<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Area: Calgary<\/li><li>Par: 71<\/li><li>Length: 6826 yards<\/li><li>Rating: 4.3\/5<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-14-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2972\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a great course that\u2019ll definitely challenge you to be up to your best. There\u2019s a good amount of water, bunkers, and shot-making holes. Their greens were in great shape and a lot of people in the area say it\u2019s their favorite course in Calgary.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lynxridge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"\">Visit their website here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kananaskis<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Area: Kananaskis<\/li><li>Par: 72<\/li><li>Length: 7136 yards<\/li><li>Rating: 4.8\/5<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-15-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2973\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a challenging but awesome course with great views and don\u2019t mind spending a bit of money, this could be for you. Everything about the course is top-notch and it\u2019s rated one of the best courses in Alberta.
