I\u2019ll also be talking about the cheapest place to pick them up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short,\u00a0<strong>the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/garmin-approach-s20\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Garmin Approach S20<\/a>\u00a0is one of my favorite entry-level golf watches and I would highly recommend it. The TomTom is a fairly decent device but it\u2019s currently unavailable. The Bushnell Excel wasn\u2019t quality enough for us to feel comfortable recommending.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that\u2019s all the info you were looking for then great. We&#039;ve tried a lot of these golf watches over the years and some of the cheaper ones aren&#039;t worth it in our opinion. Most of them aren&#039;t accurate enough or well built and probably won&#039;t last long. in&nbsp;<strong>2017<\/strong>&nbsp;and is currently priced at around&nbsp;<strong>$140<\/strong>&nbsp;and comes loaded with over&nbsp;<strong>36,000<\/strong>&nbsp;courses in 36 different countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019ll show you the distance to the&nbsp;<strong>front, middle, and back<\/strong>&nbsp;of the green and has the option to input 4 hazard distances per hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019ll also tell you&nbsp;<strong>how far<\/strong>&nbsp;you hit each shot and comes with an app to store all your data and give you an overview of some of your stats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Is The Excel For?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In our opinion, the Bushnell Excel is&nbsp;<strong>not the best<\/strong>&nbsp;option and that\u2019s why we can\u2019t recommend it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not bad but there are definitely things&nbsp;<strong>we didn\u2019t like<\/strong>&nbsp;about it and others are much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The battery life only lasted us around 2 rounds, it feels fairly cheap, the display is really dim and hard to read, and the watch&nbsp;<strong>takes<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>too long<\/strong>&nbsp;to locate the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/bushnell-excel\/\" target=\"_blank\">Read our full review here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The TomTom Golfer 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The TomTom 2 watch came out a couple of years ago and is currently priced around&nbsp;<strong>$200<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It comes loaded with over&nbsp;<strong>40,000<\/strong>&nbsp;courses from around the world and will show you the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a fairly&nbsp;<strong>basic<\/strong>&nbsp;watch (since it came out a while ago) and I wasn\u2019t the biggest fan with the way it fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll be able to see&nbsp;<strong>how far<\/strong>&nbsp;you\u2019ve hit each shot and it\u2019ll also record it in the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Is The TomTom For?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Long story short, the TomTom 2 is&nbsp;<strong>currently<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>unavailable<\/strong>&nbsp;for some reason so I can\u2019t really recommend it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if it were available, I probably&nbsp;<strong>wouldn\u2019t recommend it<\/strong>&nbsp;because there are better options on the market that are cheaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I did like it more than the Bushnell Excel but not as much as the&nbsp;<strong>Garmin Approach S20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Garmin Approach S20<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The S20 is one of the&nbsp;<strong>entry-level<\/strong>&nbsp;golf GPS units from Garmin and is currently priced around&nbsp;<strong>$140<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It comes loaded with over&nbsp;<strong>40,000<\/strong>&nbsp;courses around the world and will show the distance to the front, middle, and back of the green as well as the distance to hazards and doglegs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s probably the&nbsp;<strong>most<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>comfortable<\/strong>&nbsp;in this price range and will record fairways and greens in regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Is The S20 For?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In our opinion, the S20 is&nbsp;<strong>the<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>best<\/strong>&nbsp;entry-level golf watch and I would highly recommend it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not super advanced or anything like that but it\u2019s well built, as&nbsp;<strong>accurate<\/strong>&nbsp;as any, and won\u2019t break the bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a lot of cool features that most don\u2019t have such as&nbsp;<strong>activity<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>tracking<\/strong>, golf stats, and is compatible with&nbsp;<strong>Garmin<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>TruSwing<\/strong>&nbsp;(club stats).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/golf-gps\/garmin-approach-s2\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Read our full review here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pros Of These Devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Knowing the rough distance to the green, hazards, and doglegs can really help&nbsp;<strong>lower<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>scores<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Knowing your&nbsp;<strong>common<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>misses<\/strong>&nbsp;and how far you hit each club is also super important to know.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cons Of These Devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>These are&nbsp;<strong>fairly<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>basic<\/strong>&nbsp;golf watches and don\u2019t have as many features as others.<\/li><li>They&nbsp;<strong>aren\u2019t 100% accurate<\/strong>&nbsp;all of the time (but are normally within 4-5 yards of markers).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q. Do these watches also tell time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A. Yes, they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q. How long does the battery last?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A. The Garmin S20 is about 3 rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q. Garmin Approach S20 or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/golf-gps\/garmin-approach-s10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Garmin Approach S10<\/a>?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A. We prefer the Garmin S20 because it has more features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are These Devices Worth It?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, we\u2019d&nbsp;<strong>definitely<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>recommend<\/strong>&nbsp;picking up some sort of yardage finder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing the distance has really&nbsp;<strong>helped my game<\/strong>&nbsp;since I didn\u2019t really know before getting something like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That being said, we wouldn\u2019t recommend the Excel or the TomTom but the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/garmin-approach-s20\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rank-math-link\"><strong>Garmin S20<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is one of our favorite entry-level GPS units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let me know your thoughts and any questions you have.
