I\u2019ll also show you the cheapest place I could find it for sale, so continue reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, here\u2019s my quick review of the Garmin Approach S4:\u00a0<strong>The S4 is a fairly solid and well-made golf watch but there are newer and better models I\u2019d recommend today. Some watches like the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/garmin-approach-s20\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Garmin Approach S20<\/a>\u00a0are cheaper and do the exact same thing. Others like the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/outofboundsgolf.co\/golf-gps\/garmin-approach-s40\/\" target=\"_blank\">Garmin Approach S40<\/a>\u00a0aren\u2019t that much more and have more advanced features like fitness tracking and Autoshot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If that\u2019s all the info you were looking for then great. If you\u2019d like to enter into our golf giveaway all you have to do is subscribe to our\u00a0<a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCCQsqBrq7yo-uOknBUugeug\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"rank-math-link\">YouTube channel<\/a>, like the video and comment \u201cgiveaway\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Garmin Approach S4 First Impressions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a bit of an&nbsp;<strong>older<\/strong>&nbsp;golf watch from Garmin but it was one of the&nbsp;<strong>premium<\/strong>&nbsp;watches when it came out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019ll show you the&nbsp;<strong>green<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>shape<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>distance<\/strong>&nbsp;to the front, middle, and back of the green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019ll also keep track of how many&nbsp;<strong>fairways<\/strong>&nbsp;you hit left and right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Garmin Approach S4 Features<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to some of the newer golf watches on the market, the S4 actually doesn\u2019t have the best&nbsp;<strong>features<\/strong>&nbsp;(fitness tracking, auto hazard tracking).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a&nbsp;<strong>touchscreen<\/strong>&nbsp;display and is&nbsp;<strong>easy<\/strong>&nbsp;to read in sunlight, but in our opinion, a watch of this price should have a&nbsp;<strong>color<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>display<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It comes loaded with over&nbsp;<strong>40,000<\/strong>&nbsp;courses worldwide and has a battery that will last&nbsp;<strong>2 rounds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Garmin Approach S4 Design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m not the biggest fan of wearing watches so I didn\u2019t find the S4 to be the most&nbsp;<strong>comfortable<\/strong>&nbsp;thing to wear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, I personally liked the way some of the newer Garmin golf watches fitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another thing I didn\u2019t like as much as others were the&nbsp;<strong>user<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>experience<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>responsiveness<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It wasn\u2019t bad or anything like that but some of the newer watches are much&nbsp;<strong>easier<\/strong>&nbsp;to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Did The S4 Perform?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the main thing that really matters in a GPS and even though the S4 has some downfalls, the&nbsp;<strong>performance<\/strong>&nbsp;was great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>battery<\/strong>&nbsp;life lasted a full 2 rounds and the&nbsp;<strong>distances<\/strong>&nbsp;were always within about 5 yards of the course markers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The one thing I didn\u2019t really like about it was that you had to&nbsp;<strong>manually input<\/strong>&nbsp;the hazards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pros<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It comes with&nbsp;<strong>text<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>email<\/strong>&nbsp;alerts.<\/li><li>You can&nbsp;<strong>move<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>the<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>pin<\/strong>&nbsp;around to get a precise distance.<\/li><li>It\u2019ll last&nbsp;<strong>2<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>full<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>rounds<\/strong>&nbsp;no problem.<\/li><li>It\u2019s just as&nbsp;<strong>accurate<\/strong>&nbsp;as any.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It\u2019s a pretty&nbsp;<strong>expensive<\/strong>&nbsp;golf watch.<\/li><li>You have to&nbsp;<strong>manually<\/strong>&nbsp;enter the distances to hazards.<\/li><li>It\u2019s not the most&nbsp;<strong>straightforward<\/strong>&nbsp;watch and will take some time to learn.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Breakdown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Performance Score: 9<\/li><li>Price Score: 7<\/li><li>Ease Of Use Score: 7<\/li><li><strong>My Personal Score: 8<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently Asked Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q. Does it take into account elevation changes?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A. No, it doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q. Are there any annual fees or subscriptions?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A. No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q. Does it come with an app to store my data?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A.
